The Connecticut General Assembly founded CCDC in 1987 as a model for child care programs. We provide quality care and education for children eight (8) weeks through five (5) years of age from diverse communities in the Greater Hartford area. We are committed to providing a diverse learning environment that exceeds the highest state and national accreditation standards, nurtures a professional staff, recognizes individual needs of children, and provides support to their families in partnership with varied community resources.
CCDC’s philosophy is based on a set of strongly held beliefs. We believe each child is an individual with unique abilities and feelings, strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes. We are sensitive to each child’s social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs and place a strong emphasis on emerging literacy experiences. We encourage not just learning, but the love of learning. CCDC welcomes children regardless of ability or disability. We believe in providing a physical environment that is safe, clean, healthy, and rich with diversity. Our programs are designed to develop in children a sense of independence and responsibility. We desire to strengthen each child’s own cultural identity while instilling a respect for others who may be different. We believe that parental involvement is a vital part of a good early childhood program. We strive to create mutual respect between parents and teachers and to form a partnership for the benefit of the child. We encourage daily communication between parents and staff. Our doors are open to parents at all times. Please call (860) 240-0330 for more information.
