Recreation

The Hartford Families, Children, Youth and Recreation Department/Recreation Division offers a multitude of safe and quality programs that will focus on physical fitness, health awareness, sports, arts and crafts, cultural activities, and nutrition for residents of all ages and abilities.

Our American Red-Cross certified lifeguards are located at our four outdoor pools and two indoor pools, which offer swim lessons for children and adults, neighborhood swim-teams and recreational supervised swim for children, adults and families.  Some park playgrounds will be supervised and have amenities which may include spray pools, basketball courts and league play, pony rides, tennis lessons, field trips, and free concerts and performances.

Most programs are open and free to Hartford residents.  Some programs have limited enrollment and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
Applications and more detailed information on activities for kids, families and seniors, will be available by calling 860-757-4880 or visiting our neighborhood centers.
